The Continuing Adventures of the Nublar Six

Camp Cretaceous ended in 2022 after five successful seasons and an interactive special. However, the story didn’t end there. The adventures of the Nublar Six continued with the release of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, developed by DreamWorks Animation Television and Amblin Entertainment.

Set six years after the events of Camp Cretaceous, the Nublar Six are now famous worldwide and are trying to move on with their lives. However, the mysterious death of Brooklyn and the suspicious circumstances surrounding it put the remaining members in grave danger.

Renewal Status of Jurassic World Season 2

Official Renewal Status: Pending (Last Updated: 24/05/2024)

Given the success of Camp Cretaceous and the vast popularity of the Jurassic World franchise, it’s hard to believe that only one season of Chaos Theory was planned. It’s likely that at least two seasons were ordered when the series was greenlit. With the cliffhanger ending of the first season, a renewal announcement should be imminent.

Brooklyn is Alive!

All through the first season, we were led to believe that Brooklyn was killed by an Allosaurus. Even Mateo, who thought he was only transporting the dinosaur, believed Brooklyn had died in the attack. In a shocking twist, it was revealed that Ronnie, Darius’ former boss at the DPW, had been secretly communicating with Brooklyn.

Not only is Brooklyn alive, but she also lost her left hand in the attack. The details of her survival remain unclear, but a flashback in season 2 is expected to shed light on how she survived the Allosaurus attack.

Brooklyn’s Secret Investigations

Brooklyn, realizing her life was in danger, went radio silent with all members of the Nublar Six. By allowing everyone to believe she was dead, Brooklyn had the freedom to continue her investigations. It remains unclear if she tried to deter Ben on Dark Jurassic, but she has not contacted any of her friends.

The second season should also reveal her involvement with Kenji’s father, as it seems improbable she was attempting to purchase a dinosaur.

Destination Unknown: The Boat’s Mysterious Voyage

With the group stowing away on a ship, they are heading into extreme danger. The boat’s destination is unknown, but it is speculated that the dinosaurs on board are being transported to a black market auction, similar to the Lockwood Manor Auction from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Considering the story takes place before the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, the group could be heading towards Malta, a key location in Dominion.

The Handler and Her Boss

A new villain, “The Handler,” has emerged, killing several people and targeting the Nublar Six, who narrowly escaped. With her Atrociraptors injured, she retreated before authorities arrived. The Handler’s Atrociraptors are the same as those in Jurassic World: Dominion, and how Soyona Santos becomes their owner is still a mystery. The raptors are expected to recover and play a significant role in the second season.

Experimentation on Dinosaurs

Many dinosaurs shown in the series are either docile or obedient, suggesting they have been experimented on. Season 2 is expected to delve deeper into the extent of these experiments and their implications.

When is Season 2 Coming to Netflix?

If Chaos Theory follows a similar release schedule to Camp Cretaceous, the wait for season 2 might be short. Camp Cretaceous released five seasons between September 2020 and July 2021, averaging a new season every five and a half months. If Chaos Theory follows this pattern, season 2 could be released as early as September 2024, or as late as December 2024.
