Neil Patrick Harris’ new comedy series has been on Netflix for over a month. The actor is returning to a format that made his career what it is today. I’ve already tied up looking for updates on Season 2, here’s what we know.

The series is directed by Jeffrey Richman and Darren Star, the latter behind another Netflix giant in the form of Emily in Paris. Before that, Star was best known for producing Sex and the City, Melrose Place and Younger.

Eight episodes of the comedy premiered on Netflix on July 29, 2022 and follow a New York-based man who must rediscover life after a long-term relationship suddenly ended.

Uncoupled Season 2 Renewed or Canceled?

After a month of service, Netflix has yet to officially announce whether the series will return for a second season. As time goes on, the show will be renewed less and less and based on its stats it will almost certainly be renewed or canceled. On the reviews page, it was liked by audiences and critics alike. It currently has a critical rating of 77% on Rotten Tomatoes, an audience rating of 74% on RT, and a 7.0/10 on IMDb.

Given the show’s lukewarm performance so far (more on that below), we’re currently 50/50 about the show’s future. It has one of the best chances of being renewed of any current up-and-coming comedy series, but given Netflix’s history in this space, it may not have the numbers it needs to justify a future season.

We’ll have to wait for confirmation of Season 2 before any release date news. If season 2 goes ahead, we’re still hoping for a 2023 release. Fingers crossed!

If the program is extended, we already have a pretty good idea of ​​where the journey is going. At the end of the season, we saw Michael go home to hear that Colin had been thinking about the breakup that caused all the trouble. Will Michael consider giving their 17 year relationship another chance? Elsewhere, Stanley has been diagnosed with stage one breast cancer and is undergoing treatment. Kai’s father remains a big question mark considering Kai dodged the  meeting at the last minute.

Also, thanks to an interview with TVLine, we got some key storylines on where we could be going in Season 2.
