Lucca Quinn, a former associate of Diane who is now a rising star at Reddick, Boseman & Lockhart and on the way to becoming a partner, manages to balance her commitment to her career with a romantic relationship with US Attorney Colin Morello, which is a frequent opposing counsel. During this time, Maia, Diane’s goddaughter, works hard to get her law career off to a flying start while facing FBI pressure over her possible role in the Ponzi scheme her father ran in. Marissa Gold, a recurring character in The Good Woman, a confident young intellectual with ties to the Democratic Party, joins the firm as a new private investigator. The Good Fight Season 6 Episode 7 Recap

As good as  Mon Montha’s material is, it’s just the highlight of this week’s prestigious TV-style cast. Should feel like a blurry movement of parts, and yet the parts fit together relatively well, only occasionally feeling like checkbox lining. We catch a glimpse of Cinta on Aldhani, long enough to see a Star Destroyer move ominously; we see just enough of Syril to follow her interview with the Bureau of Standards and her new position among the bureaucratic hordes, and we meet a red-robed rogue spy who orders Vel to find and kill Cassian to tie up loose ends (both productively and perhaps a little reductively reminiscent of the utility murder he commits at the beginning of Rogue One). Where is Cassian anyway?

With his 30,000 credits, he makes his way home to Ferrix and visits three of the lifeforms he holds most dear: his mother, Maarva; her special friend Bix; and his droid B2EMO. At first, it feels a bit like “Why does everyone want to go back to Jakku?” Moment; Cassian had fled the planet in a way that felt pretty final, and his return to this world has the show re-questioning emotional connections that were either resolved or jarringly unresolved just a few episodes ago in. However, Cassian does. , experience new revelations we forgot he didn’t know. Timm Karlo reported him and he is dead! (Who is Timm Karlo? Exactly). (Okay, okay: Bix’s friend.) He stops to see Bix, pays back the money he’s owed, and tries in vain to find out a little more about Rael, mostly out of concern that in this new draconian environment he’s going to be involved with Aldhani’s work connection established.

He then goes home to find Maarva unwilling to use her credits to run away with him; She wants to stay and fight for her homeland. Cassian protests, first about the logistics, then in  a more emotional plea: “I’ll worry about you all the time.” Maarva replies beautifully: “That’s just love. There’s nothing you can do about it. So Cassian sets out on his own and eventually arrives at a “warm and simple” place: the planet  Niamos, which looks like a beach resort planet, which must be the place to be if you can’t afford real estate in Canto Bay. . It’s hard to enjoy the good life when Imperial droids fly overhead and stormtroopers patrol everywhere, and in a grim irony, Cassian, under his alias “Keef,” gets involved in… absolutely nothing. Paranoid, and suddenly he’s stopped by terrifying, familiar-looking Imperial droids and accidentally sentenced to six years in prison. Cassian freaks out over the exact verdict his mission at Aldhani helped impose. It’s a great episode ending that really ties everything together, including Cassian’s absence in part one. His somewhat diminished presence in the episode turns out to be a perfect representation of his attempt to keep a low profile and live his life in the Empire-era galaxy: he can’t last.
