The first season of Star Trek: Picard addressed two events that were actually holdovers from various Star Trek films in the past: Data’s death in 2002’s Star Trek: Nemesis (Picard fights with a spoiler alert: this all culminates in Picard finding the home of Data’s original creator and becoming a Conjoiner himself at the end of season 1 to avoid his own death.

Picard and his friends must find out what happened and have prompted the almighty Q (John De Lancie) to alter the timeline, creating a xenophobic version of Starfleet. The new season 3 teaser sees him rummaging through his old gear from Star Trek:
The Next Generation, and then we see him and his old partner Riker (Jonathan Frakes) standing side by side and phasing someone. . The teaser also promises more returning characters in season 3, including Brent Spinner as Data and Levar Burton as Geordi La Forge.
