The conflict between the Payans and the Trivantians begins in earnest in Season 2. The Trivantians appear to have the upper hand, but the Hidden Tribes fight alongside Baba. The Mayans and their allies finally triumph. Baba and Edo meet at the top of a bridge, and the former regretfully murders his younger brother. Haniwa frees Wren, much to the dismay of Kofun, who is still mourning Toad’s death.
Meanwhile, Oloman is working on a Trivantarian-specific explosive material. In Pennsa, some witch-finders leave Queen Maghra’s service after her dissolution. Tamacti Jun also proclaims his desire to retire, but Maghra urges him to reconsider. Baba leaves believing his family no longer needs him. The season ends with Sibeth murdering Paris.
Kofun, Haniwa, and Maghra will experience unfathomable heartbreak in Season 3 after learning of Baba’s departure and Paris’ death. The Trivantians will continue their attack on the Clowns, armed with their newly acquired weapons. Witch hunters who have gone rogue. Tamacti Jun can go to where Kanzua was before to see if his family really disappeared.
