Netflix’s Spanish-language action crime series Santo is more about keeping audiences engaged with very few and questionably confusing revelations than it is about having lots of exciting content.

However, the execution and fast-paced action are entertaining to watch, while the first few episodes are essentially just there to confuse, it’s not. Overall “Holy” is a good watch but not worth remembering.

Santo Season 1 Plot

Police officer Miguel Millán is working on a case in Madrid trying to solve the murder of a man and the subsequent kidnapping of his son. However, Cardona does not remember exactly how she got into such a situation or how she carved crosses on her eyelids, a mark that every follower of the dangerous Santo cult carries on his body. As it gradually turns out, Santo is nothing short of a saint or a father to his followers, and they would do anything to protect their patron saint.

Santo himself is almost pure evil, as he often performs sacrificial rituals, kidnapping small children to behead them and drinking their blood to become stronger.
