Why did Riverdale’s name change?
Riverdale returns to The CW this November, but there’s a big change coming for Season 6. The show’s new season, which streams outside the US on Netflix, will change its name for a while. The series starts. with a five-part “Special Event” titled Rivervale (that’s Riverdale with a “v”). Rivervale will see the show pay homage to some of the writers’ favorite horror genres, which is sure to cause trouble for Archie Andrews (played by KJ Apa) and the rest of town.
Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) will also make her long-awaited Riverdale debut in these five episodes. So, if you tune in to Riverdale Season 6 and it says Rivervale, don’t worry: you haven’t gotten into Berenstein Bears style. In the parallel universe, the show only briefly changed its name. Here’s why. There seem to be four main reasons for the name change: one in the series’ reality and three in ours.
A “Special Event” series because of Sabrina and CW Loves Another reason for the name change is simply that one of the things The CW likes to do with their shows is to take a bunch of episodes and market them as a “Special Event Series” under a new name because they’re something do something else with the show.
Riverdale Season 7 Plot
During his aforementioned conversation with Decider, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa hinted that season six’s supernatural events will definitely influence the final story, even though most of the characters have pretty much-forgotten everything that happened with Percival: “It’s not difficult”., a complete break with what has gone before. Jughead remembers everything that happened.
And I think our characters, whether they’re aware of it or not, have an emotional memory of what they went through. I was trying to say this after the Rivervale event, Rivervale is in continuity. It’s not five episodes that exist outside of continuity. And I think everyone saw that he was really, really into Riverdale, and he was so attached to season six. So, season seven isn’t the beginning of a new continuity in my opinion. It’s still in continuity Twist: How should I say that? Some of the pairs that stand out in the finals will go on. Some will evolve into new things, and there will be new ones… There will certainly be new couples as well.
This is especially true for queer characters like Kevin and Toni, who now have to navigate their sexuality in a much less tolerant time: “It will be very different in the 1950s. You will be imprisoned. They will have to find other ways to connect with each other. So that’s actually one of the exciting stories for us our characters like the ones we get to know today, how do we go back and cover the issues of Euphoria in the 1950s or the realities of Euphoria? Don’t expect that big twist either solved in one episode.
“We didn’t solve it,” said Roberto. “I have to say that on the last day of shooting I spoke to Lili [Reinhart] and she was like, ‘Oh, it’s so exciting to be in the ’50s.’ And I said, ‘Yeah, enjoy it.’ And she said: “Are we going to be here long?” And I’m like, ‘Yeah, we’re going to be here for a while. So, I’ll say it won’t be and voila, that’s for sure.
