In a society where health insurance is polarized and politicized, the upcoming Netflix romance Purple Hearts brings a human touch to the conversation about the astronomical costs of healthcare and the problems with veterans’ benefits.

Purple Heart – A product of Netflix’s effort to expand its repertoire of young adult content, Purple Heart is based on the novel of the same name by Tess Wakefield. The story follows the life of a future singer-songwriter who somehow gets married out of convenience to help with her overwhelming medical bills.

Purple Hearts is a film based on a 2017 book of the same name by Tess Wakefield. Dead to Me director Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum directed the film from a screenplay co-written by Kyle Jarrow and Liz Garcia.

Who Made the Purple Hearts?

In August 2021, Netflix announced that it had acquired the global rights to  Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum-directed romance film Purple Hearts from Alloy Entertainment. The film was adapted by Kyle Jarrow and Liz Garcia from a book of the same name by Tess Wakefield.

Garcia has written for shows such as Dawson’s Creek, Wonderfalls, and  Cold Case. Jarrow’s writing credits include writing episodes for Valor, Lost Generation, and Star Trek: Discovery Season 4.

The Purple Hearts soundtrack was co-written and performed by lead actress Sofia Carson.”Come Back Home,” one of the songs Carson wrote for the film, will be available after the film’s release.

Directed by Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum. She made her directorial debut in 2006 with the romantic comedy Aquamarine. Her directing portfolio includes Careful What You Wish For, the Netflix series Spinning Out, and several episodes of The Vampire Diaries.

Producers are Elysa Dutton and Leslie Morgenstein for Alloy Entertainment. Matt Sakatani Roe was the project’s cinematographer.

Filming of Purple Hearts took place in Riverside and San Diego, California. Filming began in August 2021.

There hasn’t been an official announcement from the cast and directors of Part 2, but we can expect filming for Part 2 to begin later this year.

In the end, Cassie and Luke are happy together, so the chance of a sequel to the film is very slim. But Netflix and its creators never cease to surprise their audience, so let’s take a look at how they choose to surprise their audience. .

Purple Hearts 2 Release Date

Purple Hearts was released on Netflix on July 29, 2022, and made available on the streaming service at 12:00 pm PST. MT/3:00 PM ET/12:30 PM IST. However, nothing was said about the sequel to the film. This is Purple Hearts 2. So currently there is no information on the Purple Hearts 2 release date and nothing can be said as there is no official announcement.

Purple Hearts 2 Plot. What can Happen in the Sequel?

The story ended without a cliffhanger. But a lot can be expected from Purple Hearts 2. We can expect to see Cassie and Luke’s life after the wedding.

Will they have kids and struggle, or will we see Luke supporting Cassie on their journey as a couple? Singer as his career takes off? Just like in Purple Hearts, we saw  Luke get kicked out of the U.S. Marine Corps after being accused of fraud and struggling to find a new job. This can lead to difficulties in this relationship. And much more.

However, if there is a sequel, it could follow Cassie and Luke’s life as a real-life married couple. Maybe they could even have children. As with any married couple, problems will arise. Remember Luke got kicked out of the U.Marine.

There are so many ideas out there for  Purple Hearts 2 if Netflix decides to give it the green light. We’ll have to wait and see what Netflix decides. For now, let’s hope Purple Hearts is a one-of-a-kind movie.
