Hold on to your meatballs and join us here at Digital Spy as we unveil everything you need to know about Sweden’s Young Royals Season 3 on Netflix.

Young Royals Season 3 Renewed or Canceled?

The third season of Young Royals has yet to be announced. However, it is still early! Season 2 just dropped on Netflix (November 1st) so there’s still plenty of time to confirm the third series, especially depending on how popular S2 is. If we look back at the timeline, Young Royals season 1 premiered in July 2021. Two months later, the second season was confirmed in September. With that in mind, we’re giving you at least a few months before Netflix announces the S3. We look forward to more!

Young Royals Season 3 Release Date

Almost a year and a half elapsed between the first two seasons of Young Royals, but now that COVID restrictions seem to be a thing of the past, season 3 could be coming faster than season 2. If so, then we could consider a winter 2023 release date, but that depends on how soon the Season 3 renewal is announced. Netflix typically takes about a month after the release of a new season to decide on a show’s future. If it takes longer we could look at a 2024 version. But no matter what happens, we would be very surprised if Young Royals was suddenly canceled. The series has an extremely die-hard fan base and with this cliffhanger, there is much more to discover in a potential third season.

Young Royals Season 3 Plot

The first two seasons of Young Royals revolved around the secret love affair between Simon and Prince William of Sweden. But after that betrayal at the end of season one, that love got a lot more complicated, and Simon even dated a new girl at one point to try and get over Wil. But then, just as he finally agrees to be Wilhelm’s secret in the season 2 finale, the prince decides to reveal that it was him all along in that leaked an adult tape. By admitting that, he’s also admitting his sexuality, not to mention his love for Simon on a global scale. Simon is just as stunned as any royal advisor who stutters at this shocking turn of events. But what does this mean for your future? It’s all pretty much up in the air at the moment, but anyway, it looks like Simon and Wilhelm could enjoy some outdoor bliss together. But will it last? Probably not, because children love drama. On top of that, Sara just turned out to be the one who created this sextape in the first place and then leaked it on purpose.

Will he be arrested? Or will the royal family protect August, despite what he has done to Simon and Wilhelm? When Digital Spy sat down with Omar Rudberg (Simon), they asked him what he hoped to see next in a potential third season. , to which he replied: “It’s very difficult because it can go in many different directions. This may happen in season two.’ Season 3 is like, “Let’s talk.” Now it’s getting serious.'” Whatever happens, Omar hopes that Simon and Wilhelm can enjoy some kind of happy ending, even if it doesn’t last long: “One thing  I just want to see is Simon and Wilhelm, will they be happy? ” “So we can taste the love. 100% love, unconditional love, and togetherness. That’s something  I want to see.” “It can’t always be like this,” admits Rudberg. “It must be interesting. It has to arouse feelings. But I’m looking forward to seeing them as ‘us against the world. That would be so nice to see.” ” That said, Young Royals is moving on to Young Royals, so it’s safe to say you can still expect all the action when the show returns for Season 3 (we hope!).

Meanwhile, August snaps out of jealousy of Wilhelm, but things take a turn for the better when he learns that he is Wilhelm’s backup so he can’t take on royal duties. Meanwhile, a fateful romance between Sara and August complicates things for Simon because if fans remember, Sara knew August’s involvement in Simon’s sex tape was leaked. However, love makes you do complicated things, so without any evidence, Sara decides that her boyfriend is trying hard to change his behavior instead of her brother protecting her boyfriend. Things come to a head in the final episode when the truth is exposed at the shooting range. When word reaches August that Simon is going to the police with the information about August’s involvement, August decides to threaten Wilhelm. tells him that his classmate is willing to take the blame for the video. Also, August promises to show everyone the bottle of pills that Simon bought for him in the first season under Simon’s father’s name, which could end up in Simon getting into a lot of trouble. Wilhelm and Simon have no choice but to argue with Sara and Felice at the shooting range, where he threatens August with a gun if he doesn’t tell him who told him about Simon’s visit to the police.

August refuses to give names, and luckily Sara tells everyone that she was the one who told him. Disgusted, everyone walks away from the two, leaving Sara heartbroken that August refuses to take responsibility for his actions. The couple separates and Sara leaves school and reports to the police. Meanwhile, Wilhelm plucks up the courage to stand in front of everyone during the speech after an initial cold. Unfortunately, due to his mother’s pride, he soon becomes distracted and confesses to the media and the entire school that he was the one in the (now famous) video. The confession shocks everyone, but Wilhelm, for the first time, feels like he knows he’s happy with his decision. She feels she has the situation under control and is finally doing good on the part of Simon, who has been dealing with the ramifications of the problem alone for so long and who has recently agreed to secretly date Wilhelm until he is 18. It’s Wilhelm’s way of meeting Simon in the middle and probably also a way of showing that he’s as involved in this relationship as Simon is.
