Episode one of the new  Tulsa King series, “Go West, Old Man,” has a talented roster of writers, directors, and producers behind the camera. These include creators Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone), Terrance Winter (The Sopranos), and Allen Coulter (The West Wing). With an eclectic mix of comedy and drama, Tulsa King could be the next big streaming hit for Paramount+, a streaming network that desperately needs to add new streaming and long-form content. Luckily they have Legends in Sylvester Stallone to hopefully take them to similar heights as The Sopranos.

The new crime comedy follows Dwight “The General” Manfredi (newcomer Sylvester Stallone), a recently incarcerated New York crime boss who is summarily exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma by his boss. In his best interests, Dwight slowly builds a “team” from a cast of unlikely characters. The first episode of Tulsa King, starring Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, and Garrett Hedlund,  also airs Sunday, November 20 on Paramount Network.

The show is hosted by the aforementioned Stallone (i.e. Rocky and Rambo, but you already knew that) and creator Taylor Sheridan, who currently rules over the Kingdom of Yellowstone. However, Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter is serving as showrunner. The cast includes Martin Starr as the owner of the famous pharmacy, Jay Will as Stallone’s driver, Andrea Savage, Garrett Hedlund, Dana Delany, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, A. Peterson and Annabella Sciorra.

Sylvester Stallone plays Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a man who just spent 25 years in federal prison for being a stand-up guy. He just did a spread for the Invernizzi family. While Mayor of Kingstown, last year’s non-Yellowstone entry in Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount+ Verse, had a 10-episode Season 1, Tulsa King will be slightly shorter at 9 episodes. The first of these nine episodes is available now on Paramount+, and the first two episodes of the season will also air in a special presentation on the Paramount Network for the next two weeks. That means Tulsa King’s debut season has eight episodes and eight weeks left.
