The Amazing Race Canada is a Canadian adventure reality game show, It is an international Amazing Race franchise. The show follows teams of two as they race across Canada and around the world.  Each racing season is divided into stages, with teams tasked with driving courses, navigating unfamiliar territory themselves, interacting with locals, overcoming physical and mental challenges, and traveling by plane, boat, car, taxi, and other modes of transportation.

The teams will eventually be retired. most of the stages to be the last to arrive at the scheduled pit stops. The first team to reach the finish line will win a grand prize of CA$250,000 and additional prizes from program sponsors. After the seventh season finale, it was announced that the show had been renewed for an eighth season. It was originally scheduled to premiere in mid-2020, but season production has been pushed back to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. Season 8 was released on July 5, 2022.

The Race

The Amazing Race Canada is a reality competition between at least nine teams of two. Each season is divided into a series of stages in which teams travel and complete various tasks to obtain clues that will help them progress to a pit stop where they can rest and recover before moving on to the next twelve hours later start stage. The first team to reach a pit stop is often awarded a prize, while the last team is usually eliminated (except during non-elimination periods). The final leg of each race will be driven by the last three remaining teams, with the first at the final destination winning CAD$250,000, two vehicles of any Chevrolet model, and one year of unlimited air travel on Air Canada (Seasons 1-3).

On the air date of the first season finale, it was announced that CTV Bell Media had ordered another season of The Amazing Race Canada. Casting for the show began in fall 2013 and the second season premiered in summer 2014.
