Wednesday on Netflix is approaching fall! She’s creepy and she’s crazy and mysterious and scary and now Wednesday Addams is back for her own show. Wednesday is directed by Tim Burton and features actress Jenna Ortega in the title role, while Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán play Wednesday’s famous parents, Gomez and Morticia Addams.
Other famous actors include Gwendoline Christie and even the star of the film version Christina Ricci (see her new characters in the franchise below). The eight-part comedy-drama series will see the iconic character from The Addams Family in a whole new light.
WEDNESDAY Release Date
There is no release date for Wednesday on Netflix yet. We think the eight-episode series could launch in 2022 (Halloween feels like a good room), though for now Netflix is just saying the show is “coming soon.”

WEDNESDAY Plot
Wednesday on Netflix delves into the main character’s days as a student at Nevermore Academy in the small town of Jericho, where he has both friends and enemies. He must navigate new and highly tangled relationships, master his nascent psychic abilities, and foil a monstrous massacre that has been terrorizing the local school. And if that wasn’t enough, Wednesday must also solve the supernatural mystery that engulfed her parents 25 years ago.

Cindy Henderson played her in the 1970s adaptation, while Christina Ricci turned the death-obsessed character into a phenomenon in the 1991 film. Chloe Grace Moretz spoke Wednesday in the 2019 animated film.
