A deaf soldier meets an enchanting siren who lures men to their deaths with her scream. In the final chapter of Love, Death + Robots Volume 3, there isn’t a single sentence that goes together, but for the episode titled Jíbaro.

Jíbaro”, is an amazing animation with a story to tell. So how did “Love, Death + Robots Volume 3” end with the soldier and the mermaid collapsing the episode? And yes, this beautiful episode is fully animated!

Once upon a time, there was a brave knight who went too far into the forest with his companions. The knight was overjoyed to find gold, unaware of the hell he had unleashed on the rest of his men.

A beautiful mermaid dressed in the finest gold and jewels awoke from the river in the forest. Instead of seducing the knight’s friends with an enchanting song, the siren howled at the top of its lungs. The screams drove the knights insane.

The lake was filled to the brim with his blood. Only our hero, the deaf knight, escaped unscathed, which confused the mermaid. Why couldn’t he kill him? What made it different? She follows him and watches him sleep with almost childlike curiosity. The Lord wakes up and responds to his curiosity.

She runs away and he follows her. They meet at a waterfall. The two eventually meet and share a blood-soaked kiss. The knight immobilizes the mermaid, knocking her unconscious.

He rips the gold and jewels from her body, not caring that she is bleeding. After the knight has completely removed each piece of precious metal from the mermaid’s body, he throws it into the waterfall. The river is now overflowing with the mermaid’s blood.

However, the knight, exhausted from carrying his new treasure bag, drinks from the river. Cures his deafness.

As a result, when the siren wakes, the knight is vulnerable. You may have lost the jewels that adorn your body, but you can still scream. And he screams until the knight finally succumbs and sinks into the river of death and despair.

He told Animation World Network that his final chapter of Love, Death + Robots Volume 3 is a metaphor for toxic relationships. He explained, “These two love each other for all the wrong reasons, and that’s exactly what’s happening in modern relationships today.

We use and choose people for all the wrong reasons. And they choose us for the completely wrong reason, too.” And we all end up suffering.”

Wanting to play with a story that didn’t have a clear definition of who the audience should be cheering for, the talented director remarked in the same interview, “None of our characters here is a hero. In fact, both are quite incomplete.

There are times when the audience prefers one over the other. You can now stream Love, Death + Robots Volume 3  on Netflix.
