Ferruccio Lamborghini’s life changes completely when he leaves his small town to become a successful businessman. While there are difficulties from time to time, none of them is really a failure. Learn from every mistake and move forward with a fresh perspective that pushes you even further to greater things. But as fast as the way to the top was, in the end, he also suffered many setbacks. And it seems that Ferruccio couldn’t find his way out of these problems. In the early 1970s, the country faced an oil and economic crisis. Workers all over Italy were on strike, but Ferruccio believed that he would look out for his employees and that they would never strike against him. However, as Annita predicted, if anything goes wrong, the workers will band together against him. The film doesn’t go into the details of what happened next for Ferruccio’s business, but the reality was that he had to sell his company and retire from the automaking business for good.

Although the film focuses particularly on Lamborghini cars, it was with Ferruccio’s tractor business that the problems began. Several of his export orders were canceled as the countries concerned faced their own political and economic conflicts. The cancellation of their orders broke the fortress. of Ferruccio’s business, which eventually collapsed as the oil crisis worsened. While Ferruccio tried to find common ground with his workers, the company couldn’t keep up with casualties on multiple fronts. Eventually, Ferruccio was forced to sell fifty-one percent of his company to a Swiss businessman named Georges-Henri Rossetti. Despite this, with 49% in his hands, he continued to work on making new cars. But in 1974 it didn’t work out. Things did not improve and Ferruccio also lost interest in fighting a losing war. By then he had already made the Lamborghini Miura, which found its place in one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful, cars in the world. World. All the challenges  Ferruccio had Thinking in itself, he decided to give up the remaining part and sold it to a man named René Leimer. He then moved to an estate in Umbria, where he returned to his farming roots and planted a vineyard that led him into winemaking. He stuck to it to the end, after he had completely withdrawn from the passions that drove him in his youth. The film reflects this by beginning with a view of a vineyard and ending the story with a scene of Ferruccio tending his farm.

Was Ferruccio Racing Enzo a Dream?

The film faithfully follows Ferruccio’s story from beginning to end, but there is one scene that is repeated throughout the film and, despite its simplicity, lends a deeper meaning to his struggles. In this scene we see an old Ferruccio taking on Enzo. Ferrari. Bits and pieces of his career are placed throughout the film and they seem to go hand in hand. But in the end, we find Ferruccio and Enzo back at the starting line. When Enzo walks away, Ferruccio stays behind searching in the distance. What does that mean? Ferruccio has always had big dreams and the urge to make them come true. He wanted to be the best when it came to making cars, which is why Enzo Ferrari became his direct competitor. When Ferruccio and Matteo first present their car for the race, they don’t even make it to the finish line. It’s Enzo who wins it. When Ferruccio got involved in tractor construction, among other things, Ferrari built up a coveted brand for itself. Their cars are so good that even Ferruccio admires them. What was a sense of respect for another car enthusiast turns into an unbridled rivalry when Enzo insults Ferruccio.

The latter had offered a collaboration, but Enzo says  Ferruccio is just a farmer who doesn’t know anything about cars. It is at this point that Ferruccio gets involved in the car-building business and this is the dream sequence of the race between them. It represents. Over the years, Lamborghini gains a solid reputation for its cars, and on the track we see Ferruccio taking control of Enzo. Just when it feels like Ferruccio has won, the market tightens and he is eventually forced to resign from his company completely.

By that time he had also divorced Annita and his son Tonino had also separated. While pursuing his dreams and accumulating much wealth,  relationships with loved ones have deteriorated to such an extent that Ferruccio begins to wonder if he was wrong in giving his all to cars and not caring about his family. When Ferruccio ends up back at the starting line with Enzo, he doesn’t even bother to race. Ferrari drives away while the Lamborghini stays behind. This scene reflects Ferruccio’s loss of his company during the Depression. In comparison to him, Enzo Ferrari managed to weather the storm and when things calmed down he was back in business. As for Ferruccio, he had to retire completely. Ferruccio’s lack of interest in competing with Enzo shows once again that he has lost interest in building cars. He has retired from the race and is now focusing on other businesses and most importantly his family. The film doesn’t show it, but Ferruccio remarried at the age of 58 when he sold his company’s shares. She had a daughter and hopefully this time she gave her family more love and attention and lived happily with them.
