A sequel to 1883, the Paramount+ western series 1923 follows James Dutton’s brother Jacob Dutton and his wife Cara Dutton, the patriarchs and matriarchs of the family in the 1920s brother founded Yellowstone Dutton Ranch despite the challenges he faces due to the Great Depression.

As the show continues the saga of the Dutton family some forty years after the events of ‘1883’, fans of the latest series have to wonder if fan-favorite Faith Hill character  Margaret Dutton is playing ‘1923’. Let’s share everything you need to know about it!

Is Faith Hill in 1923?

So far, Paramount+, creator Taylor Sheridan, and Faith Hill have not indicated that the actress will appear in 1923 as Margaret Dutton or as a new character. “1883” ends with Elsa’s death and James and Margaret’s decision to settle in Montana and start Yellowstone Dutton Ranch. and 1923. By the time “1923” begins, Margaret is already dead and Cara Dutton becomes the new Dutton matriarch. With Margaret dying, it is highly unlikely that Hill will reprise the character in the 1883 sequel. Margaret’s death seemingly completes the character’s story arc, leaving Sheridan no room to explore it in  Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. When asked about the show in a recent interview, Hill did not mention any plans to appear in the western drama, suggesting that Hill most likely has no plans to return to the ‘Yellowstone universe as Margaret.

There are several instances where cast members from either ‘1883’ or ‘Yellowstone’ appear as new characters in the other. Dawn Olivieri, who plays Claire Dutton in the first part, plays Sarah Atwood in the second. Taylor Sheridan also plays Travis Wheatley in Yellowstone and Charles Goodnight in 1883. If Hill is ready to return to the Yellowstone universe, the actress can play an original character in 1923. However, Neither Hill, Sheridan, nor the streaming platform has confirmed the possibility. If Hill is to surprise 1923 viewers with an unannounced appearance, it could be done in a flashback sequence.

Both “1883” and “Yellowstone” use flashbacks as a narrative device to connect stories to significant events from the past. If that’s also the case with “1923,” Hill could appear as Margaret in one of those flashback sequences. Since Margaret’s two sons, John Dutton and Mr. and Spencer Dutton are alive, possible flashback sequences involving the two siblings could also include Hill’s Margaret. of her family, probably with flashback sequences, we can assume Margaret von Hill is doing the same.
