The full trailer for Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 Episode 1, released by ABC on February 29, hinted at the possibility of the interns losing their jobs, with Nick Marsh appearing to admonish them and Meredith pleading for their second chance. During Arizona Robbins’ lecture in the trailer, Bailey’s enthusiastic introduction initially obscured the specific interns being addressed. Yet, two brief shots showcased the entire group of interns introduced in season 19, including Simone, Lucas, Jules, Mika, and Benson. Bailey encouraged them to sit down and later participated attentively in the lecture, indicating their continued employment at Grey Sloan Memorial at the time of Arizona’s lecture. Simone’s altered hairstyle hinted at the passage of time since the season 19 finale.

However, the irrefutable confirmation of the interns retaining their jobs came from Jessica Capshaw’s Instagram post announcing her return as Arizona Robbins. The post mentioned a date, “04.04.24,” aligning with the Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 Episode 1  timeline, indicating that the interns remained employed at Grey Sloan Memorial by episode 4 when Capshaw was set to guest star as Arizona. Despite the anticipated drama and investigations in the season premiere, the interns were confirmed to be secure in their positions at Grey Sloan Memorial.
