Scott Speedman will return in a recurring capacity to complete Meredith and Nick’s arc, according to Deadline, which also confirmed the return of Wilson, McKidd, and Raver. Although Jesse Williams and Sarah Drew have returned for the finale, they won’t. Unfortunately, they will return as regulars in season 19. The only other season 18  regular not to return for season 19 is Richard Flood as Cormac Hayes. As for Meredith Grey, her time in Minnesota may not be over yet 3 and Pompeo will appear in Season 19 of Grey’s Anatomy in  “limited capacity”. 

Meredith is expected to appear in about eight episodes next season, making up half of the episode run, though Pompeo remains an executive producer on the series and will reportedly continue to narrate every episode. You can get the girl from Seattle, but you can never get Seattle out of the girl or anything. Considering the season 18 cliffhanger where Meredith debated whether to replace Bailey or chase  Nick back to Minnesota, the news that Meredith won’t be at Gray Sloan full-time seems a good indication that her interim position won didn’t last, and she’s finally ready to leave the hospital she grew up in.

Let’s go ahead and say that we’re ready to look forward to what’s happening with Meredith and Zola. Most of the rest of the story in this episode could be meant as a way to take a break. some of it – it will be light-hearted in nature and also show us more about what’s going on with Miranda Bailey. This season has a story that should be unique compared to what we’ve seen in the past, and let’s just say we’re pretty excited about it. Bailey is recruiting interns to create a series of social media videos that educate teenagers about sexual health. The videos, filmed in front of a group of high school students at Gray Sloan, are shocking when a  medical complication develops during their visit. Elsewhere, Meredith and Maggie learn something new about Zola in a brand new episode of Grey’s Anatomy.

After six long months, Gray Sloan Memorial has resumed its residency program. A group of talented and hardworking young interns was recruited as resident surgeons to restore the program to its former glory. The boss sees Nick for the first time since she turned down his offer to move to Minnesota. Meanwhile, Bailey tells Richard she’s not ready to go back to work; Levi works up the courage to break some disappointing news to Jo, and things take an awkward turn when Link realizes he’s already met one of the interns. With the help of Amelia and Maggie, the new doctors begin their first day of work dealing with injuries. from a recent tornado.

Nick makes some changes to the residency show after accepting the residency manager job offered by Meredith. Skills as put to the test by the wizards they help. Will Meredith and Nick finally talk more about their relationship and what Meredith’s decision to stay at Gray Sloan has meant for them? Or is Meredith too busy to argue (meaning she avoids him at all costs)? Hope they both make it, because it’s nice to see Meredith happy and in love again after Derek’s death all those years ago.

Will interns make more mistakes that put patients’ lives and jobs at risk? Apparently, Jules and Griffith are faced with a strange case this week and they must contact the wizards to help them figure out what’s going on. It also appears that Jules will be working on an amputation with Link. Will it be weird and complicated for them to work together after Link assumed Jules wanted a relationship and she turned him down? Will this be the case where Jules and Griffith sit? Like they’re finally making a name for themselves and feeling a part of Gray Sloan? And how will the news that Lucas is in fact Derek’s nephew affect their stay in Gray Sloan? Will her secret ever come out and intimidate the other? Will he and Amelia or Meredith have a little family reunion and maybe we can see how close everyone is? It’s unlikely that his story will be revealed and cleared up in a single episode, but it’s sure to be interesting. Storyline since the Shepard family is legendary in Gray Sloan.

Why is Cormac Hayes leaving GREY’s anatomy?

Based on Flood’s interview with Deadline,  he and the producers appear to have come to a joint decision that his character’s arc is over. He told the outlet, “Over the summer there was talk of how the season would go, and later in the season there was more talk of what could be good [for the show] and what could be good for me. “Having three years on the show felt good to me and I think the character arc with all the developments in the story was probably nearing its natural end, which was great. I was very happy that it was all that’s how it went.” The Irish actor to.  He took to his Instagram to thank the team behind the show. He wrote: “Get ready before my last take! Thank you to everyone involved over the past three years, but especially to all the fans whose, reaction to Hayes’ departure over the past two weeks has been overwhelming! Very appreciated.”
